What's Melt Blown?
Melt blown is a conventional method of manufacturing fibrous and self-bonding web (nonwoven fabric). The major advantages of melt blowing are simple (relatively) and high productivity. One of the popular applications of the nonwoven fabric is mask.
What's PP Meltblown Nonwoven Fabric Manufacturing Process?
To make it easier for your understanding, we display the PP melt blown nonwoven fabric manufacturing process from six aspects.
PP Melting & Extruding
The extruder would melt polypropylene (PP) and then extrude these polymer melt.
Filter
Make the PP melt clean for better following molding process.
Uniform Melt Delivery
The PP melt should flow consistently to dies, so usually there shall be a good metering pump.
Forming Fibers
The molten PP are forced through melt blown fabric mould, the melt are blowing to be a random array of discontinuous subdenier fibers by hot and fast-moving air.
Web Formation
And then the fibers flow toward to the collector, at the same time, the fibers could be cooled by cooling air, finally forma the self-bonded nonwoven web.
Winding
Usually, the melt-blown PP web is wound onto a core.
After the above processes, the primary PP melt blown nonwoven fabric has been made, and which would be further processed according to the end-use requirement.
