Crate Mould Series Overview

SINOMOULD has developed seven sub‑series of crate moulds tailored for different application scenarios. Every mould has passed Mouldflow analysis and fully automatic trial moulding before delivery.

Crate Mould Technical Advantages

Regardless of the application series, SINOMOULD’s crate moulds share the following six engineering‑grade technical advantages:

  1. Flash‑free precision interlocking technology for grid features

For the dense ventilation and drainage holes on the four side walls and bottom of the crate, we use tapered precision interlocking positioning between cavity and core, controlling the mating clearance to 0.01–0.02mm. This achieves zero flash around through‑holes, eliminating manual deflashing.

  1. Balanced filling with multi‑drop sequential hot runners

Depending on the crate size, we configure 4‑to‑8‑drop valve‑gated hot runners. Sequential injection technology pushes weld lines to non‑stress areas, ensuring that grid intersections are fully filled without gas traps or burn marks.

  1. Conformal cooling and fast cycle times

3D conformal cooling circuits or high‑pressure baffe‑type water wells are designed inside the core, with zoned mould temperature controllers for precise temperature control. Conventional crate cycle times are reduced to 30–65 seconds, significantly increasing output per hour.

  1. Differentiated corrosion resistance and anti‑rust treatment

Depending on the application environment, we select 718H, 738H, NAK80, or S136 stainless steel, and apply differentiated surface treatments such as electroless nickel plating or cryogenic treatment, ensuring the mould does not rust in acidic, alkaline, or humid conditions over the long term.

  1. Precision machining and interlock validation of stacking locks

The male/female stacking locks at the four corners are precision‑machined with wire EDM and CNC boring, followed by full‑dimension CMM inspection, guaranteeing reliable engagement whether the crate is empty or fully loaded in multi‑layer stacks.

  1. Quick‑change wear parts and long mould life

High‑frequency friction areas such as slide retainers, anti‑slip pads, and hinge shafts are designed as independent, replaceable inserts for easy on‑site replacement by end users. The overall design life of the mould reaches 800,000 to 1,000,000 cycles or more.

Crate Mould Customization Process

  1. Requirement discussion: Confirm crate specifications, number of cavities, raw material type, and output target.
  2. Solution design: Deliver 3D mould structure proposal, Mouldflow analysis report, and detailed quotation.
  3. Precision manufacturing: Steel procurement → rough/finish machining → heat treatment → EDM finishing → polishing.
  4. Assembly and mould trial: Fitter assembly → dynamic trial moulding → full dimensional inspection of sample parts.
  5. Acceptance and delivery: Packing, shipment, and on‑site or remote acceptance for overseas customers.
