Dual-color molding

Dual-color injection molding is always widely used in toothbrushes, cups, and bottle caps and any other daily necessities. The so called dual-color molds refer to two kinds of plastic material in the double color injection molding machine, then they will need two molding, but only one mould unloading.

In the dual-color injection molding process, we should take account of many issues as follows:

Option of two kinds of raw material

Dual-color mouldinjection molding usually choose different color but the same material or two different materials. On this time, we should consider the interface action、differences of shrinkage rate、processing technological parameters and any other aspects of these two materials. In general, shrinkage rate of dual-color moulddepends on the new material. Because new material has braced the outline of the plastic products, secondary material will not shrink a lot. As for how to confirm the new and second material, it will include many factors, such as flowability of the raw material and shape of the plastic products.

Choice of the gate location

We should be cautious to choose the gate location of the dual-color mould. Disposable products should be better to choose subsurface gate which will be beneficial to cut off the products and runner. If the mould cannot adopt subsurface gate, we can consider three plates mould and hot runner mould.

Choice of the double color mould

Double color mould always adopts rotating injection mould. The core and cavity in the rotating injection mould should have the consistent size and precision so that they can well match up. We the ejector demoulding mechanism on the Dual –colorinjection machine cannot be unavailability, the revolving platform must be set up hydraulic ejector demoulding mechanism.
